JOY IN PRAYERS

By Agbortem JC
I once had a serious problem that I needed help and so I had to go to someone for help. Being a problem that needed an administrative intervention, I went to see a top government official. It was not easy at all to meet this man. After a series of appointments, I finally met him. He listened to me keenly and told me, “my boy, I understand how you feel and I assure you, I will see to it that your problem is solved as soon as I can.” I thanked him and left with assurance that I have met the one I know can solve my problem. When he promised me he will see to the solution of my problem, I was relief and full of joy. I no longer put on a sad face.

THE POPE DID NOT CAUTION THE USE OF CONDOMS

Vatican City, Nov 21, 2010 / 03:36 pm (CNA/EWTN News).-
Despite media claims of a revolutionary change, Pope Benedict is not altering Catholic teaching on condom use or justifying the disordered use of sexuality, Vatican spokesman Fr. Federico Lombardi has explained.
In a Nov. 21 statement from Vatican Radio, Fr. Lombardi discussed the Pope’s comments in Peter Seewald’s forthcoming book “Light of the World: the Pope, the Church and the Signs of the Times.”
In these comments “the Pope is not reforming or changing the teaching of the Church but he reaffirms it, putting it in the perspective of the value and dignity of human sexuality as an expression of love and responsibility,” the spokesman said.

SAVE YOURSELVES FROM THIS GENERATION

By Agbortem Jean Claude
I like any committed Christian, do ask myself the kind of world we are living in. We are living in a world where human dignity and integrity has given way to perversion. The truth has given way to lies and good for evil. All these in the name of human rights and freedom.

UNDERSTANDING MARTYRS

By Fr. William P. Saunders (Holy Spirit Interactive)

The news media, like The Washington Post, keeps referring to those radical terrorists in Iraq and other places as "martyrs." This seems confusing — especially to children — when many of our saints were martyrs. What is the best way to explain the difference?

RELIGIOUS RE-AFFILIATION

By Agbbortem
I was born in a Presbyterian family, went to a Presbyterian school, was baptised as a Presbyterian but now I am a Catholic. I was born a Catholic, grew up as a Catholic and became a Baptist Christian when I got married to my husband. I use to be a Catholic until the day I discovered that the Catholic Church does not teach the truth. We hear stories like this in our day to day discussion and nowadays moving from one denomination to another has become the talk of the day. This is known as Religious   re-affiliation.

A SWORD WILL PIERCE YOUR OWN SOUL

By Agbortem J.C
It is not always easy to hear a Prophecy and remain undisturbed especially when it has to do with pains or something we find unacceptable. People always love to hear good prophecies about their futures and whenever bad prophecies enter their ears, they ask questions on how to stop what has been prophesied from happening.

TRUE VANITY

By Agbortem JC
Last Sunday, the readings of the Catholic Church were focused on one lesson; vanity. I attended mass in my parish as usual and the priest’s sermon inspired me to write this brief meditation. We all know the saying of King Solomon in the book of Ecclesiastes 1:2, “Vanity upon vanity, all is vanity;” but how often do we ponder on it true meaning in our lives? What is vanity then?

THE POWER OF SMALL THINGS

       By Agbortem J. C.

The beginning of everything is what is not always easy as they say but at times it is also because we fail to get the real point. Everything has a beginning or a starting point. You must start from somewhere. This therefore, is what matters in life.
Many find it very difficult to start in everything because they don’t wants to start small, we want to start up the larder not caring to know that we must start from step one before reaching the top. All because we lack the consideration of small things.

CAN ONE BELIEVE IN GOD WITHOUT BELIEVING IN THE HOLY TRINITY?

By Agbortem JC
The question of the Holy Trinity (God in three persons) continues to trouble many hearts in this new age especially as many try to use modern mathematics to explain it. The Bible itself is very explicit on this subject and the Triune God has always been seen in all that happens in the Bible and the life of god’s people, therefore it is absurd for one to say he believes in God and does not believe in the Holy Trinity.
